The electrochemical detectors are the most recent, most refined detectors of CO available and proportionate the most precise measurement of the CO concentration to obtain. The 5800CO can take lectures of low levels that can be dangerous during long periods of time to high concentrations that present an immediate danger.
Local Siren - A piezoelectric speaker generates a temporary 4 pattern ANSI S3.41 in a condition of alarm. The local siren also alerts the final user of other conditions with the low battery, problems in the detector and the end of its useful life.
LED indicators of status - Dual LEDs that provide a visual indication local to detect the status including the normal function, alarm, low battery, problems, and the end of its useful life.
End of life - When the detector has reached the end of being useful, the detector will send a signal of the problem to the panel. This indicates the sensor of CO in the interior of the detector has passed the end of its life and the detector has to be replaced. The useful life of the detector is approximately six years starting the date of manufacturing.
Complete supervision - The 5800CO is totally supervised to monitor the low battery, in case of sabotage, and failure conditions.
Test/Silence Button - This double button purpose allows the final user to make periodic testing of the detector. In case of an alarm of CO, the volume will cancel the alarm of the local sounder for a period of five minutes. Note: The silence function will not work if the levels are above of 350 pbm (parts by million) of carbon monoxide.
Versatile mounting - Whether you choose to place the detector in the ceiling or a wall, the mounting simplifies with the included accessories. The mounting base assembly has large ports.
Protection against interventions and tamper resistant - The detector has an included tamper that can communicate to the control panel in case the base is removed. To obtain an additional level of security, the detector includes a resistant element to the manipulation that prevents the withdrawal of the base without the use of a tool.
CAUTION
It should be noted the installation, operation, testing and maintenance of the 5800CO is different than smoke detectors. Per NFPA 720 section 5.3.7.2 the detector shall not be connected to a zone that signals a fire condition (i.e. smoke detector zones). Therefore, the 5800CO detector must be programmed as a no-fire zone. See the control’s Installation Instructions for the appropriate carbon monoxide zone type to be programmed.
