Portable radio equipment (and a wide variety of electronic devices) operates through rechargeable batteries. The batteries are classified base in their internal chemistry:

• Ni-Cd (nickel-cadmium)
• Ni-MH (Nickel-Metal Hydride)
• Li-Ion (Li-Ion)

Their span life can of several months or even years if they receive an adequate management, otherwise, their life span can be reduced to even days and in this case not warranty will apply.

Please perform the following instructions after purchasing batteries:

In any charge cycle, the radio must be turned off.

1 .- New batteries generally have some remaining charge. Operate the radio equipment until battery is completely discharged. Then, charge it for 14 continuous hours – the type of the charger does not matter (slow or fast).

2 .- Operate the equipment normally until the battery is completely discharged.

3 .- Repeat steps 1 and 2 a couple of times.

* If the battery does not hold the charge after this process, contact your authorized dealer.

5 .- The temperature affects the durability of the battery, therefore it should not be exposed to excessive temperatures during loading and storage. Keep the battery between 41 and 77 F.

6 .- Avoid short circuit the terminals as this could produce serious explosions.
