The new firmware and software KPG-111D that allows sending the GPS signaling in a digital form with the Kenwood radios NX-200 / NX-300 and NX-700 / NX-800. After the tests here are the following observations:

1 - The data sending is considerably faster than in analog mode making its operation more efficient.

2 - The GPS digital data are not audible so the end user does not know that it was sent, something that happened in the analog format.

3 - If the radio is programed in a mix format, it can receive either analog or digital GPS signals, the existing GPS systems remain in operation and coexist with digital radios.

4 - The accessories for the digital GPS system are exactly the same as the ones used for the Kenwood 180 series:

NX-200 / NX-300 require KMC38-GPS
NX-700 / NX-800 require SKRR180GPSDC harness and antenna GM158DB9.

For the base it is necessary a NX-700 / NX-800 radio connected to a PC using a serial cable.

The Digital Kenwood GPS offers interoperability between the existing analog systems and the new digital ones!
